What it is

A climate fintech mobile app that turns everyday spending into reforestation. Users round up card transactions to the nearest dollar, and every $5 in accumulated round-ups funds five trees planted by verified reforestation partners — sequestering an estimated 540% more carbon than the average user produces each year.

How it works

We designed, built, and launched Grove on iOS and Android in the US — a full consumer fintech product with three independent funding paths, verified impact tracking, and an end-to-end automation backend.

User Flows

User type: Member

• Sign up via phone verification (Twilio SMS) and complete a brief profile
• Enter a referral code to unlock invite-only access
• Choose a reforestation project to support
• Fund trees through three independent paths:
  • Round-Ups — connect cards via Plaid; every $5 in round-ups plants five trees via Stripe ACH
  • Recurring — subscribe to a monthly tree-planting plan via Apple Pay or Google Pay
  • One-Time — make a one-time contribution via Apple Pay or Google Pay
• Track total trees planted, CO₂ offset, and acres restored on a live progress dashboard
• View every tree in a personal “Forest” — list view or interactive map of planting locations
• Retry incomplete plantings, manage connected payment methods, and pause round-ups anytime
• Share personal referral codes and track referral activity
• Download a full impact report
